Swanbank E Power Station – WTP

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As part of Stanwell Corporation’s power portfolio, Swanbank ‘E’ Power Station provides electricity to the National Electricity Market from South East Queensland.

Swanbank E Power Station (E Station) was reliant upon Swanbank B Power Station (B Station) for demineralised water, makeup cooling water and waste water services. The E Station disconnection project removed E Station’s reliance upon B Station by implementing new infrastructure to meet all water supply and waste water demands, thus allowing E station to operate as a ‘stand alone’ asset.

The context of the E Station disconnection project included the following tasks:

Stage 1

  • Design and construct of a new Demineralised Water Treatment Plant incorporating multiple pre – filtration and RO / CEDI trains to produce a high quality boiler feed water for the gas fired E stations heat recovery steam generators.

Stage 2

  • Design and construct of a new package STP to treat waste streams from the existing park facilities.

Stage 3

  • Design and construct of a new floating raw water intake system and pump station on the lake, rising main and building to house equipment.
